Might Makes Right.
That was how Reve was raised. His family prided themselves on military prowess, and he would be no exception. The mission was simple, defend the garrison for a week until reinforcements showed. No such luck. They attacked with excessive force, using totalitarian warfare to set the jungle ablaze. A new device had been employed to knock out all communications and Reve had set out to take it down. That was what saved his life before the garrison was bombed and obliterated. Reve survived by surviving off the land, using all the knowledge he had acquired through survivalist training. But time erodes all things, including the mind, and the need to survive physically outweighed those of the mental and Reve gave into the inner beast within, becoming a predator that would kill or be killed. That was when panther found him. King of shadows, to stride the world of light and dark, human and beast, life and death. Panther deemed Reve worthy, and bound to his side as the spirit panther Fade.
Reve returned, showered with praise for all his successive blows against the ruling faction. But Reve never forgot, what lies just beneath his surface, beneath the hollow echoes of society.
